Babylon Health is a telemedicine health provider that relies on it's AI platform to provide patients with a diagnosis. After triage, the app will then proceed to connect the patient with the appropriate medical professional. They currently have services in the United Kingdom, with plans for global expansion.
Their AI has been designed around a doctor’s brain to provide healthcare for everyone via their smartphone. It can understand and recognize the way that humans express their symptoms. Using this knowledge, combined with a patient’s medical history and current symptoms, it provides information on possible medical conditions and common treatments.
Much of the Babylon team’s work is on the development of machine learning research; this is being driven through access to volumes of data from the medical community, learning from their users and through feedback from Babylon’s own experts.
As of March 2020, their app has been updated to check patients symptoms for the COVID-19 virus.
