Herbert J. Davenport (1861-1931) was an economist from the United States. He was born in Wilmington, Vermont on August 10, 1861, and later passed away in New York City on June 15, 1931.
Davenport was educated at various institutions, including the University of Chicago, Harvard Law School, University of South Dakota, and Leipzig University. His doctoral advisor was Thorstein Veblen, an eminent American economist and sociologist.
