IguVerse

IguVerse (formerly Iguana Metaverse) is a play-to-earn social network on the blockchain. It is specifically designed for pet owners to engage in social interactions via the blockchain. The beta version of the platform is set to be released in September 2022 and will be available for use on Android, iOS, and browser. It is built on the Binance Smart Chain, where it is intended that the sale of the platform's currency, $IGU will take place in late June 2022.

In March 2022, there were 400 total Genesis NFTs sold on NFT marketplaces OpenSea and Binance NFT. On May 25, 2022, there was a public sale of 500 more Genesis NFTs. The collections are of various types of pets, and holders of the NFTs can later claim a playable character on the platform.

The game started with only iguana NFTs and has since branched out to include other pet animals. According to the IguVerse website, users will be able to obtain a pet for the platform by minting an NFT from a picture of their real pet or purchasing a virtual one. They will then generate a Pet ID on the platform, which can be shared on other social media sites, such as Twitter or Instagram. From there, it becomes a game for other users to attempt to find the pet, similar to the game hide-and-seek. Users can then connect with other players to engage in competitions and interact on social media. Rewards are earned for specific tasks and are in the form of $IGU.
