Jules Bordet (born June 13, 1870 in Soignies, Belgium) was a Belgian biologist, physician, and politician. He is best known for his discoveries relating to immunity. Bordet was educated at the Free University of Brussels and had Élie Metchnikoff as his doctoral advisor. His primary academic disciplines were human immunology and microbiology international.
In recognition of his work, Bordet received the 1919 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. He passed away on April 6, 1961, in the City of Brussels.
