Kano is a British technology company headquartered in London that produces do-it-yourself (DIY) computer kits and software. Kano was founded in January 2013 by Alex Klein, his cousin, Saul Klein, and Yonatan Raz-Fridman. Alex Klein currently serves as the company's chief executive officer (CEO).
In 2018, Kano partnered with Warner Bros. to release an electronic Harry Potter wand that teaches children how to code. In 2019, the company partnered with Microsoft to release the Kano PC, a transparent and modular laptop and tablet which runs Windows 10 and Kano's software suite. In April 2019, Kano announced it had received a £14 million funding package from HSBC, which the company planned to employ for expansion in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America.
In late 2019, Kano launched Kano Club – where thousands of users learn to code, draw, and make music together online. In 2020, the latest Kano product was launched in the Kano PC, a 2-in-1 buildable laptop computer designed with Microsoft.
In the past, Kano has been ranked more innovative than Google and Microsoft by Fast Company and collaborated with Microsoft, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and more.
