The National University of Ireland (NUI) is a public educational institute located in Dublin, Republic of Ireland. Founded in 1908, NUI operates in the education, higher education, and university industries. It is also known as Ollscoil na hÉireann and Ollscoil na hÉireann, Córas. NUI's motto is "Veritati Fir Fer".
The university has several subsidiaries, including University College Dublin, Maynooth University, National University of Ireland, Galway, University College Cork, and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Another subsidiary is the National University of Ireland (constituency).
The National University of Ireland is accredited by the Department of Education and Skills of Ireland. It is affiliated with the European University Association and the International Association of Universities.
