QC Ware Corp. is a quantum computing software company building enterprise solutions that run on quantum hardware. The company's stated objective is to make quantum computing easily accessible to classically-trained data scientists and to offer performance speed-ups on near-term hardware.
The company was founded in 2014 by Matt Johnson, KJ Sham, and Randy Correll and is based in Palo Alto, California. QC Ware participated in the Class IX cohort of The Alchemist Accelerator in October 2014 and raised an estimated $6,500,000. In July 2018 QC Ware received $6.5 million in Series A funding, the lead investors were Citigroup and Goldman Sachs Principal Strategic Investments.
There are five key areas that QC Ware is working on:
- Chemistry Simulation - Cracking, Catalysis, Synthetic enzyme design , Drug design , Materials design.
- Optimization - Planning, Portfolio Optimization , Scheduling, Fault diagnosis .
- Machine Learning - Prediction, Pattern recognition/Classification , Clustering, Recommendation systems .
- Differential Equations - Fluid dynamics, Seismic wave equation , Disease spread, bacterial growth.
- Monte Carlo Methods - Risk analysis , Derivative pricing , Inverse problems in geophysics.
