Seerslab provides an augmented reality (AR) and mixed-reality (MR) solution for smartphone and application developers. As the AR contents partner of Samsung, Seerslab provides a variety of AR stickers and effects on the default camera of the Samsung Galaxy smartphone series. Seerslab is funded by venture capital firms such as Y-Combinator and Foundation Capital and was the first among Korean media entertainment start-ups to participate in the Y-Combinator accelerator program.
Seerslab's product suite includes ARGear, MirrorCity, Fanbox, ARBox, and lollicam.
The ARGear platform has its own SDK and API that enables developers to implement AR features in products such as real-time face-tracking, camera filters, facial beautification, 3D stickers, and various trigger effects. In addition, the platform features an AR sticker content archive, which app developers can use to upgrade a mobile phone camera into a Snapchat lens with various AR expressions.
Seerslab also launched the ARGear service, an AR software as a service (SaaS) platform based on Seerslab's source technology, to provide AR and Vision AI technologies to three domestic telecommunications companies (LG Uplus, KT, and SK Telecom), as well as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and several smartphone manufacturers.
Seerslab's lollicam is a mobile app for selfie videos that allows for real-time video correction. It is the app that has originally introduced the face-tracking sticker and cinematic effect concept, which have since been adopted by companies such as Snapchat and Facebook.
In July 2020, the company launched a global online concert platform service called Fanbox, providing an AR solution that enables content planning, development, and service launches.
Seerslab's applications include the following:
- LG Electronics AR camera: AR software for cameras in LG mobile phones
- Face AI camera: Beautification filters, 2D/3D for camera mobile applications, e-commerce, and livestreaming
- Digital 3D avatars: Digital avatars for Metaverse, live broadcasting, commerce, and entertainment applications
- Location-based AR: Visual information and GPS-based AR software, applicable in indoor and outdoor navigation and location-based services
- Hyundai Motors XR navigation: point of interest AR providing visual information for places via GPS and cloud
- XR (extended reality) solutions: XR content creation and VFX software
Seerslab launched the Fanbox service with the support of APN Partner Megazone Cloud and AWS. Director Kim Jae-cheol explained that AWS enables Seerslab to stream in a global content delivery network (CDN) environment and provides infrastructure for the development and implementation of 4K-resolution live streams. Seerslab tests and applies various functions within AWS required for Fanbox services.
According to Amazon Web Services, Seerslab is developing a platform built on AWS where performers and fans will be able to meet and communicate online through its Vision AI and AR source technology, helping performers to create and produce shows.
