Sentry is a service that monitors and fix crashes in real time. It contains an API for sending events from multiple languages in a range of applications. The application can triage, reproduce, and resolve errors with efficiency and visibility. Sentry started as and remains a 100% open-source project, now delivered as a hosted service. The company states "development aligns to security, observability, and production at scale."
Sentry also offers SDKs for every framework, platform, and language for integration into applications and technical stacks.
Sentry cofounders David Cramer and Chris Jennings were compelled to solve a specific problem: better error visibility and alerting. Sentry allows developers to quickly triage and resolve issues while reducing chaos and potential financial loss, by providing cross-stack visibility and deep context about errors. Each day, it processes billions of exceptions from popular products on the internet.
The team behind Sentry built and shipped the software behind many brands, such as Dropbox, GitHub, Atlassian, PagerDuty and Disqus.
