Snackpass is a company that has developed a mobile application for ordering food. It participated in the YC W18 cohort of Y Combinator and is backed by other investors, such as Andreessen Horowitz. The app is used predominately on college campuses by more than 500,000 users, and the company has plans to expand its services to major cities.
Snackpass had initially developed a platform of the same name that facilitates the process of ordering food online. It also provides incentives for users with loyalty rewards and discounts. The platform is a combination of social media and a food-delivery service where users can see what food their friends are buying and even buy food for their friends as a gift.
The platform is targeted toward college students and was initially launched on college campuses, such as Yale, Brown, and University of California, Berkeley. It is available for download for devices that use Android and iOS.
Snackpass has also developed solutions for food merchants, including kiosks, mobile ordering, and point-of-sales systems. Its solutions have been used in restaurants such as Johnny Rockets, Presotea, and SomiSomi.
