Valtix was a developer of a cloud-based network security platform for enterprises. The company offered a multi-cloud network security platform that enabled enterprise teams to meet security requirements and provide multiple topologies and cloud architectures from a secure island or centralized security model and capable of combining centralized and distributed security models. The company's firewall was developed with built-in auto-scaling, app-aware security policy, advanced FW, and complete IPS and WAF. The platform is available on popular cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. The company served financial services, healthcare, retail, and government sectors.
In February 2023, Cisco announced its intent to acquire Valtix. Previously, Cisco had strategically invested in Valtix and announced wanting to acquire Valtix for its cloud-native control plane where users can enable common policy and enforcements of networking across major public cloud environments. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, suggesting for some that it was not a large deal as the transaction did not have to be reported by a public company. But it forms a part of Cisco's ambitions in the multi-cloud network security business. Cisco is expected to close the acquisition by the end of the company's Q3 FY2023, at which point Valtix will be folded into Cisco and closed.
Valtix's platform was a multi-cloud network security platform delivered as a service to cloud teams and developed to meet stringent security requirements. Cloud-native allows the Valtix platform to offer continuous visibility and control or discover new cloud assets and changes, associate business context, and automatically apply appropriate policies to ensure security compliance. This platform is developed to work in the background and ensure that critical security gaps do not emerge.
