Swedish automotive company, manufacturer of passenger cars of the Volvo brand. Previously, Volvo Personvagnar was part of the Volvo concern. Since 1999, the company has been owned by Ford. Since 2010, the company has been owned by the Geely Automobile holding.

The word "Volvo" comes from the Latin language and was originally the slogan of the parent company - the famous SKF. Literally, the name can be translated as "I am spinning" or "I am spinning" (Latin Volv - torsion), but over time the "Swing" option settled down.

Headquarters - in the city of Gothenburg, Sweden. In 2015, 503,127 new Volvo cars were sold worldwide (an increase of 8.0% compared to 2014). For the first time in its history, Volvo Cars has crossed the milestone of 0.5 million cars sold. The largest markets are China (more than 81 thousand cars sold), Sweden (more than 71 thousand), the USA (more than 70 thousand), Great Britain, Germany. Best-selling model in 2015 - Volvo XC60
