It aims to provide a collaboration platform for developers to create, review, and deploy code bases. GitLab is based in San Francisco, California.

GitLab offers one product and one service: GitLab and GitLab Professional Service. GitLab is a subscription-type software product that software developers can use to manage the entire DevOps cycle in a software development project. GitLab Professional Service, on the other hand, is a variety of supporting services that a customer can purchase to utilize GitLab fully. Some of the services that fall under this category are implementation and migration services to GitLab system and employee training for using GitLab.
