The API is built to offer users clear voice and video with multi-region support and for low latency through a cloud infrastructure. Features of the platform include calling essentials, with advanced functions such as metadata, on-device recording, video frame capture, call event webhooks, screen share, and call events integration with chat. And the API includes a dashboard and platform API, offering users call logs, admin calls, user notification settings, call metadata retrieval, automated billing, user authentication, and media stream encryption.
SendBird's Desk API is a customer support API, offering users a chance to customize the user experience with many of the other APIs offered by SendBird, while offering features to help make support agents productive through agent dashboards. Other features of the Desk API include features to automatically route tickets, set assignment rules, and tag tickets; a chatbot for frequently asked questions, so agents do not have to reply to those questions; automated and proactive support to engage users sooner; real-time monitoring and reporting to monitor and optimize a customer support team's performance; and a feature to allow users to include third-party extensions, such as CRM integrations, to give support agents more context on a customer.
