The Rochester Knighthawks is a New York-based box lacrosse team. The team is a member of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and is owned by Kim and Terry Pegula.It was founded in 1995 and played in the Major Indoor Lacrosse League until 1998, when it joined the NLL. Its home arena is the Blue Cross Arena (also known as One Memorial Square), located in Rochester, New York. The arena has an ADPRO Team Store where fans can purchase Knighthawks merchandise, such as jerseys, t-shirts, hats, jackets, and more.
The Rochester Knighthawks is part of the NLL's East Division and joins teams Philadelphia Wings, New York Riptide, Toronto Rock, Albany Firewolves, Buffalo Bandits, Georgia Swarm, and Halifax Thunderbirds to make up the division. The team is made up of players from the United States and Canada. From 1995 to 2007, the team reached the playoffs for the league and won three consecutive championships from 2012 to 2014. The 2019-2020 season was suspended by the NLL due to the spread of COVID-19. During the 2021-2022 season, the team finished with four wins and fourteen losses
